BRIEF: HANOVER Woman stabbed during Arundel Mills robbery attempt

A Baltimore County man was arrested after he allegedly tried to rob a woman at knifepoint in the parking lot of Arundel Mills Mall Friday afternoon, county police said.
Around 3 p.m. the victim was getting in her car near the Neiman Marcus Last Call store when a man approached with a knife and demanded her purse.
The two struggled, the woman was cut on the hand, and the suspect fled without the purse, police said.
He sped off in what witnesses described as a green Acura SUV. A state trooper spotted the vehicle northbound on Route 295 and attempted to pull it over. The drive didn't stop and was followed into Baltimore City where the suspect's SUV hit a building. A foot chase ensued and the suspect was caught by state troopers and Baltimore City police.
Broderick Reginald Bennett, 49, of Fairbrook Park, was arrested and transferred to the Western District station in Anne Arundel County. Police said he would be charged with armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault, and related charges.
The woman was taken to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center for treatment of her wound.
