BRIEF: KUB work snags up traffic on I-40
Feb 16, 2013 (The Knoxville News-Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A rolling road block on Interstate 40 at Interstate 640 west has traffic tied up this morning.
Knoxville Utility Board workers are stringing fiber optic cable across the interstate and the work is expected to end by 2 p.m., KUB spokesman Mark Rauhuff said.
"We have had to delay this a couple times because of weather and finally got to do it today," he said.
The work was expected to take five hours and be finished by noon but has taken longer.
Rauhuff said he expects I-40 to back to normal by the time the Vols' basketball game with Kentucky ends at Thompson-Boling Arena.
