BRIEF: Two sought in Pizza Hut armed robbery
KNOXVILLE, Feb 16, 2013 (The Knoxville News-Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Police are looking for at least two suspects responsible for robbing a West Knox County Pizza Hut at gunpoint just before 11 p.m. Friday night.
According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, a man entered the store located at 9268 Kingston Pike brandishing a gun and demanded access to the safe. He then forced the employees to lie on the ground as he took cash from the safe and register. When attempting to leave through the front door he was met by a delivery driver who he directed to remain outside.
After fleeing on foot, the suspect was seen getting into the passenger side of a Honda Civic with a custom muffler and dark tinted windows. The vehicle was described as a faded red, older model, possibly 1992-1994.
Witnesses described the suspect as a black male with light skin, 25-30 years old, around 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was also described as unshaven with scraggly facial hair and wearing a faded camouflage jacket.
