Prepare for changes to PAYE and pensions [Grimsby Telegraph (UK)]
(Grimsby Telegraph (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ACCOUNTING software provider HBP Systems is offering advice and assistance to its customers who are preparing for the upcoming changes regarding PAYE and pension changes implemented by Her Majesty's Revenue And Customs (HMRC).
The company held an event at its Woodhouse Road offices in Scunthorpe on Monday, January 21, but due to the heavy snow which hit the area on the day and prevented many people from attending, it has scheduled another for Wednesday, March 6. The seminars are specifically for users of Pegasus Opera II and Opera 3 Payroll software and walks users through the steps required to use their payroll software in-line with new legislation changes. Advice is also being offered for IRIS Exchequer accounts and Sage accounts for which HBP Systems also offers support.
Tony Pearson, technical director at HBP Systems, said: "It's very important that we provide the support our customers need when changes like this happen.
"Both the RTI and pension changes affect nearly all businesses, so it's vital that they know how to submit the right information so that they meet all of their legal requirements." The changes affecting PAYE are known as RTI - or Real Time Information - which changes the way in which businesses need to submit payroll information to the HMRC. As the name suggests, RTI requires businesses to submit information in real time rather than at the end of the financial year.
Changes to legislation affecting pensions will also affect the use of payroll software as employers will now be required to auto- enrol any staff members who meet a range of criteria into a pension scheme.
