Optus to cut more jobs in overhaul

Singtel Optus plans to restructure its marketing, IT and network divisions, which will result in the loss of some jobs. The changes include shifting the mobile products and services unit from the marketing division to the customer division. Martin Mercer will head a newly-created team which will aim to turn around the fortunes of the telco's fixed-line division. Optus retrenched almost 1,000 employees in 2012.
