BRIEF: Send us your poems

Feb 22, 2013 (The Tribune (San Luis Obispo - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Calling all wordsmiths! Do you have something to say Here's a chance to have your voice heard.

This spring, The Tribune is inviting folks across the Central Coast to help us celebrate National Poetry Month by sharing their best original poems.

San Luis Obispo poet laureate Jerry Douglas Smith will read the entries and select his favorites. We'll publish those poems throughout April in the Sunday edition of Central Coast Living.

To submit a poem for consideration, San Luis Obispo residents should send two copies -- one with your name, age, city of residence and phone number, and another without any identification. (We have a special category for poets under 18.) Although all kinds of poetry are welcome, poems must be 22 lines or less.

Please limit entries to one poem per person. Poems must be received by Monday, March 11.

Send your poem to: From Soul to Paper, The Tribune, P.O. Box 112, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. For more information, call Sarah Linn at 781-7907 or email slinn@thetribunenews.com.
