Sheppton woman charged with trying to hire hitman

SHEPPTON, Feb 23, 2013 (Republican & Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Sheppton woman was jailed Wednesday after Schuylkill County detectives charged her with trying to hire someone to kill two people for evicting her.

Jamielynn Reilly, 36, of 885 Center St., was arraigned on charges of solicitation to commit criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit criminal trespass and conspiracy to commit simple assault.

She was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 straight cash bail.

Chief County Detective Dennis Clark said the charges stem from incidents on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Clark said East Union Township police contacted detectives after learning that Reilly was looking for someone to kill Brian J. Treco and Kelly Feeko, also of Sheppton. She allegedly told Rafael Lopez that she would pay to have the two killed, Clark said.

Detectives started an undercover operation and met with Lopez and the two victims and learned about the eviction and contract offered by Reilly.

Lopez then called Reilly and handed the telephone to an undercover detective who told the woman the matter will be taken care of.

Lopez then spoke to Reilly again and asked who she wanted killed first, Brian or Kelly, Clark said in his affidavit of probable cause.

Reilly replied "her," referring to Feeko, the detective said.

Clark said arrangements were made for Lopez and the detective to pick up Reilly so she could show them where Feeko lives.

Once Reilly was picked up and again said she wanted Treco and Feeko killed, Clark said the detective asked the woman what she wanted the crime to look like.

Reilly said to make the killings look like a burglary because that is what Treco and Feeko accused her of.

When asked how she wanted the two killed, Clark said Reilly told the detective "just put a bullet in them, a bullet to the head or chest." During the conversation, Reilly agreed to pay Lopez $500 for the murders, Clark said, adding that the woman also agreed to hand over the title to a van to Lopez to hold until she gets the money to him.

Reilly will now have to appear for her preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah, at a later date.
