BRIEF: Wimberley hardware store destroyed in fire Friday

5 p.m. update: The Ace Hardware in Wimberley was destroyed in a fire that quickly spread throughout the store Friday, Clint Browning, an assistant fire marshal for Hays County, said through a spokeswoman.
The cause is still under investigation, he said.
No employees were in the store at the time of the fire, he said.
Fire departments from across the county responded to the 9:30 p.m. call, he said, including those from Wimberley, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda and Dripping Springs.
Earlier: Firefighters responded to a blaze at the Ace Hardware store in Wimberley on Friday night, said Deputy Jeff Jordan of the Hays County sheriff's office.
Jordan said the building was "fully involved" but he couldn't comment further on the incident.
The Hays County fire marshal could not immediately be reached for comment.
