Online ad growth slows for second year in a row

Mobile advertising expenditure rose 55% to $A33.8m in the three months to 31 December 2013, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau. Total advertising expenditure grew by 18% in calendar 2012, against 21% and 25% respectively in 2011 and 2010. Classified spending fell by around one per cent to $A172m in the December quarter, which contributed to a two per cent drop in Seek's first-half revenue.
