Pretty calls for project scrutiny

The Australian Government notes that a previous call for tenders to provide a fibre-to-the-node network did not flush out any cost effective offers. Mike Quigley, CEO of the NBN Co entity rolling out the national broadband network, has asked the Communications Alliance industry lobby body to perform research into alternative solutions. Ted Pretty, ex-technology and innovation division head at telco Telstra, says a review is urgently needed.
