4G auction plan approved [Gulf Daily News (Bahrain)]

(Gulf Daily News (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MANAMA: Bahrain is to launch an auction for fourth generation mobile telephone frequencies. The Cabinet yesterday approved the 4G plan as part of efforts to upgrade Bahrain's broadband infrastructure. Minister of State for Telecommunications Affairs Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa submitted a memo in this regard. Mobile phone companies operating in Bahrain will be invited to vie for the 4G mobile contract. No new mobile telephone operator will be allowed to enter the market.
