BRIEF: Arrest made in Jacksonville bank robbery

Feb 27, 2013 (The Florida Times-Union - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A 53-year-old man has been charged with a Jacksonville bank robbery that included a threat that the robber was armed.

Tracy Adam Farris was arrested Feb. 13 and is being held in the Duval County jail in lieu of $200,000 bail, according to jail records. Police said several anonymous tips led to the arrest.

After the Jan. 31 Bank of America robbery at 2709 Monument Road, a teller told police that a note said the assailant had a gun. The note also ordered that two bags be filled with money and no dye packs, a police report said.

The robber fled on foot.

The teller said he never saw a gun.
