BRIEF: CalPERS hosting 'IT Career Fair' Saturday in Sacramento [The Sacramento Bee]
(Sacramento Bee (CA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Feb. 28--The California Public Employees' Retirement System's Information Technology Services Branch on Saturday will host an "IT Career Fair" targeting job opportunities at CalPERS and employment with the state of California.
It will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CalPERS Lincoln Plaza West Atrium, 400 Q St., in downtown Sacramento.
Organizers encourage IT professionals, recent college graduates and college students nearing graduation to attend.
CalPERS is seeking applicants with various skills to fill about 100 jobs in multiple IT disciplines. Many new positions will replace outside consultants currently used by CalPERS.
CalPERS IT managers and other IT professionals will be on-site. CalPERS human resources staff also will be available to answer questions about the state's hiring process.
The free event is open to the public. Registration is not required but strongly encouraged by organizers.
