BRIEF: About 32 Hillsboro homes affected by phone outage

A phone outage is affecting some Frontier Communications customers in Hillsboro.
The outage is limited to FiOS customers, and about 32 homes are without landline service in the area around the 800 block of Northwest 10th Avenue, said Mark Chandler, a spokesman for Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency, the county's 9-1-1 and dispatch center. The cause is unknown, and crews are working on the problem.
Chandler said service is expected to be restored by 5 p.m. Thursday.
People who are affected by the outage should use a cellphone to call 9-1-1.
