ComputerMixx works with any computer user [Daily Record, The (Wooster, OH)]
(Daily Record, The (Wooster, OH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) For almost 30 years, Computermixx has provided computer sales and service from its downtown Wooster location. John Ruehling bought ComputerMixx after managing the store about 28 years ago, and now his children help run the business.
ComputerMixx used to be located on Liberty Street in Wooster years ago, but the business did not favor street parking and needed a larger space, so it was relocated to the current South Market Street facility. "When we first moved to the South Market Street building, there wasn't much activity in this part of downtown. There has been a noticeable change in the last 10 years, though, with new restaurants and shops between us and the square," sales manager Jennifer Rueh-ling-Campbell said.
Purchasing manager Doug Ruehling said they considered moving to the north end of Wooster where there has been much development, but overall it didn't make sense for their customers. "Our customers are not just in Wooster. Many come to us from east, west and south, so this location near Route 30 is more convenient for them. And, a large part of our business is on-site service for our business customers. This more central location makes it easier for us to reach them."
ComputerMixx currently operates with 10 employees. Ruehling- Campbell said ComputerMixx carries product lines from Apple, HP and Lenovo, along with software and accessories to meet all computing needs. They work with any computer user, from those at home to those in small and large area businesses.
There are many new products on the market today, and ComputerMixx can help customers evaluate which of these may meet their technology needs. "Tablets, touchscreen computers, all-in-one desktops and online backup services are some of the hot items we are seeing recently," according to Doug Ruehling.
"We don't consider ourselves a strictly retail company. We also provide many products and services that cannot be purchased at the large retail chains," according to Ruehling-Campbell. These include networking equipment and installation, servers and point-of-sale systems.
"What we feel really differentiates us is the service we provide. We carry a different product line from what the big retail stores can offer. Every computer we sell can be serviced locally by our technicians, whether the problem is covered by the warranty or not," said Doug Ruehling. "We want to be the point of contact for all our customers' needs. We don't want them to have to call offshore for technical support," Ruehling-Campbell added.
