BRIEF: Major Case Squad continues investigation in Swansea homicide
SWANSEA, Mar 03, 2013 (Belleville News-Democrat - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
No one has been arrested as of Saturday afternoon in connection with the murder of a Swansea woman found in her apartment Friday but members of the Greater St. Louis Area Major Case Squad are still hard at work following up on leads.
The victim is 50-year-old Carmen Boyd of 255 Marcella Drive. She lived in a second floor apartment at the building.
Jeff Wild, the deputy commander of Major Case Squad, said the landlord discovered Boyd's body inside her apartment.
There has not been a homicide in Swansea since 2006, Police Chief Mike Arnold told reporters Friday.
Wild, who is also a captain with the O'Fallon Police Department, did not release other information about the case.
Anyone with any information, no matter whether you think it's important or not, is asked to call the Major Case Squad at 618-234-3291.
Contact reporter Carolyn P. Smith at 618-239-2503.
