Mar 03, 2013 (Khaleej Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Special needs kids and the elderly can take part in the fun and entertainment in Global Village, free of charge and without any hassle on Monday at the park's 'Family Day'.
The region's leading cultural, shopping and entertainment family outdoor destination is hosting the event as part of its aim to provide best services to people from all walks of life, young and old.
CEO of Global Village Saeed Ali bin Redha said that since the inception of the theme park 17 years ago, corporate social responsibilities was instrumental to the park's management and to reflect this they introduced the waiving of entry fees for children below three years old, the elderly and people with special needs.
He said that their escorts are also free, and the provision of wheelchairs at the gates as well as ensuring a number of special services to them are taken care of by a team at Global Village.
"Additionally", he said, "the park is managed within eco-friendly and sustainability standards".
Monday as a 'Family Day' will see family members on top of the list of target audiences as the park has been designed to accommodate them.
"Monday family day was named long back for families to have a special evening out,' Al Redha said: "This tradition has even attracted families from neighbouring countries where women can shop and entertain more at ease."
