Q: How do I call to get a free credit report for me and my kids They're 18, and I just want to make sure everything is straight with them. -- M.P., Fayetteville
A: Call 877-322-8229 or go to annualcreditreport.com to order free credit reports for you and them.
You'll have to provide your Social Security number, and theirs. That's so you can prove your identities to the folks on the other end -- representatives of Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, the three major credit bureaus. Be assured: They already have that information.
Once their credit reports arrive, you should go over it with them and talk about the importance of good credit and how to maintain it (pay bills on time, don't rack up too much debt and so forth).
Q: I have another suggestion for the person who has fabric scraps to give away. -- S.T., Fayetteville
A: S.T. -- Susan Tingen -- says she would be glad to receive fabric scraps, fabric, thread, notions and fashion magazines that people can't use or no longer want.
She would put them to use in the apparel development classes that she teaches at Seventy-First High School. In an email, she said most local high schools have apparel development classes that need fabric for student use.

Autry, who's 60, is CEO of the company, which does film, TV and video production and actor training and development.
He acts only occasionally now and from 2001-09 served two terms as Fresno's mayor. Here's something you may not know about him: Autry was a member of the Green Bay Packers in the mid-1970s. The team drafted him in 1975 and cut him in 1977. That's when he started pursuing acting.
Q: Could you reprint the information about how to retrieve lost or destroyed savings bonds -- J.O., Fayetteville
A: To ask for replacements of lost U.S. savings bonds or for a search of records for outstanding bonds, fill out and submit Form 1048 -- "Claim for Lost, Stolen or Destroyed United States Savings Bonds." It's available at treasurydirect.gov/ forms/sav1048.pdf.
