SPEEDIEST GRAPHICS CARD TAKES OFF
MALAYSIAN power users can now drool over what is currently the fastest graphics card on Earth, the Asus ROG ARES II.
This limited edition model is powered by a couple of AMD Radeon HD 7970 Ghz Edition Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) with each of them running at a speed of 1100Mhz.
Tested to be 13 per cent faster than NVIDIA GTX 690 graphics card, the ARES II offers 6GB GDDR5 memory.
The design also includes a hybrid thermal solution which uses both air and liquid cooling system.
The cooling system offers a 120mm fan block to fit easily into PC cases while its closed-cycle tube liquid system works consistently to dissipate heat from the dual GPUs.
Another enhancement to the design comes in the form of DIGI+ VRM technology, which increases overclocking flexibility desired by power users.
Add in the 20-phase Super Alloy Power architecture, the combination helps keep the performance of the ARES II stable throughout graphics intensive gaming and computing, at the same time prolong its lifespan by as much as 2.5 times compared to reference cards.
With only 1,000 units of the ARES II made available for purchase, the product is priced at RM5,599.
Coming in a sleek carrying case, the ROG ARES II also packs in a ROC Vulcan and Gaming Headset along with AMD's 'Never Settle: Reloaded' games bundle offering that includes Crysis 3 and BioShock Infinite.
