JetBlue Airways Adds Flights to Charleston, S.C.

Mar 05, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- JetBlue Airways announced that it launched service to its 76th city, Charleston, South Carolina.

According to a release, JetBlue will serve Charleston International Airport (CHS) with twice daily nonstop service from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and a daily flight from Boston's Logan (BOS).

To celebrate the airline's 76th destination, through March 10, flights to Charleston from New York are on sale from $79 one way and from Boston from $140 one way for travel between March 19 and May 22, (blackout dates apply) (a). JetBlue's entrance to South Carolina has been met by such strong reception from the people of Charleston that the airline recently announced plans to add a second flight from Boston, with Saturday weekly service beginning April 6.

The company noted that, in addition, as part of this special sale offer, JetBlue Getaways, the airline's vacation package service, is offering three-night stays in Charleston from New York (JFK) for $299 per person or from Boston for $429 per person (b). JetBlue Getaways provides customers with added convenience by bundling flights and hotels with car rentals and other amenities and activities. Customers enjoy access to Concierge On Call, the airline's complimentary around-the-clock vacation assistance line to answer questions, and make recommendations, dinner reservations, tee times and more. "Charleston's unique charm and the hospitality of its people make for a perfect partnership with the excellent customer experience that we deliver," said JetBlue's Chief Operating Officer Rob Maruster. "We couldn't be more excited about adding Charleston to our growing network, and we look forward to connecting our newest city to New York and Boston with the best product and service in the skies." "The skies over Charleston are a little Bluer today and our future horizons are even brighter," said House Speaker Bobby Harrell. "JetBlue has built their company on a foundation of quality and excellence, providing outstanding service by focusing on the needs of its customers. JetBlue will greatly benefit by providing these new markets with nonstop service to the world's top tourist destination and will soon realize that the locals they're hiring as new 'JetBlue Crewmembers' are some of the most dedicated and hardest working employees in the industry." Speaker Harrell added, "The addition of yet another top-notch airline servicing the Charleston Region, and the 100,000 new annual airline seats JetBlue brings, gives us a real reason to celebrate. From a relationship that grew over several recruiting trips by folks like Helen Hill and the Charleston Visitors Bureau, it is an honor to now welcome the leadership team at JetBlue and we thank them and all our local leaders who came together to make today a reality." "Welcoming JetBlue to Charleston is truly a moment to savor," says Wild Dunes Resort Managing Director and Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Chairman Frank Fredericks. "As an airline, JetBlue is committed to providing a safe experience, competitive pricing, and superior customer service. As a community partner, JetBlue has already demonstrated its commitment to serving the Charleston area by signing on as the Official Airline of the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. We can now, thanks to JetBlue's daily service to the Charleston International Airport, say that Charleston has blue in its sky 365 days a year," says Fredericks.

JetBlue is New York's Hometown Airline with other focus cities in Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles (Long Beach), San Juan and Orlando.
