Tigo, BPR in a New Deal for Easy Airtime Purchase
(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Tigo Rwanda and Banque Populaire (BPR) have started a new partnership that will allow subscribers of the telecom company and who are clients of the bank to easily purchase airtime by using their mobile phones.
According to Chantal Umutoni, head of sales and distribution at Tigo Rwanda, the partnership aims at reaching out to their customers so as to facilitate them get many services by using mobile phones.
"The objective of Tigo is to get closer to its customers so that they can get airtime easily," Umutoni said. "Our partnership with BPR is aimed at working with institutions with a similar philosophy of making services easily accessible."
Tigo customers registered in the BPR e-banking platform will dial *150# from their mobile phones and enjoy the convenience purchasing Tigo airtime on the go, at any time of the day.
Paul Van Apeldoorn, the acting CEO of BPR, explained that they are doing so in a bid to provide innovative solutions to their customers.
"One of the objectives of BPR is to continuously innovate and deliver timesaving, cashless solutions for our huge client base regardless of where they are located," he pointed out.
Tigo enters this new partnership while it launched in the past other services such as Tigo Cash that can also be used to buy airtime and electricity among other advantages.
