CALIBRE Board Chairman Named Outstanding Director by Washington Business Journal

Lieutenant General Thomas P. Carney (U.S. Army Retired), Chairman of the Board at CALIBRE Systems, Inc. (CALIBRE), was recognized with a 2013 Outstanding Director Award presented by the Washington Business Journal. The 2013 Outstanding Directors Award honors outside directors whose service to their boards has been exceptional.

In presenting the award, CALIBRE President & CEO Joseph A. Martore said, "General Carney's approach in leading our Board is based on our corporate motto, 'Our Success Follows Yours,' and he actively participates in ensuring that our customers and our employees succeed. His combination of experience, knowledge, abilities, and insight has been integral to CALIBRE's success. As a result of his direction and vision, CALIBRE revenues have grown 600% and the company share value grew over 3,500% since he joined the Board in 1999."

General Carney was elected to the CALIBRE Board in 1999, and was elected Chairman in 2001. As a result of the direction and vision of the Board under General Carney's leadership, CALIBRE completed its 23^rd consecutive year of continuous profitable growth and 18^th consecutive year of share value growth since the inception of CALIBRE's Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

General Carney retired from the United States Army after 35 years of service. During his career as an Army officer, he served in a number of high-level Department of the Army positions, including Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, Director of Program Analysis and Evaluation, Commanding General, 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized), and the Army Recruiting Command. After he retired from the Army, he became the CEO of the Library of Congress. Today, he also serves as a member of the Boards of USAA and Army Emergency Relief.
