Eco-kids’ products were inspired by Cammie Weeks’ mother, who made homemade molding dough for her kids. A generation later, Cammie tweaked the family recipe so it’s 100% natural. It’s made with plant, fruit and vegetable extracts (from beets, blueberries, carrots, spinach and more) that give the dough its vibrant, earthy colors. Cammie and her husband Kip started selling eco-dough at a farmers market, and their venture led to a whole line of natural art supplies. Inspired by rocks in the family garden, their eco-crayons are made using 25% beeswax and 75% plant, fruit and vegetable extracts. Natural extracts are also the main ingredients in the company’s eco-eggs coloring kit (which comes with three powder packs and instructions for creating custom colors) and eco-paint (a powder-based formula you can use with fingers or a paintbrush). All the products are made in Portland, Maine.
