BRIEF: Lunchtime Laugh: How not to curl your hair

Mar 05, 2013 (The Oregonian - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Today's Lunchtime Laugh is something one finds funny at first, but the laughter quickly morphs into horror.

Could it happen to you In the video, 13-year-old Tori Locklear conducts a how-to video on achieving the perfect curled locks.

"Then count 20. Count 20 or longer actually," she tells her audience.

Any experienced hair-curler knows 20 seconds is on the long side.

All goes well until about 1:08, when she endeavors to release the curling iron. Instead of unraveling a long ringlet, she pulls the rod away to find the entire length of hair has burned off.

Locklear uploaded the video to YouTube a few months later, quickly amassing millions of views.

Then, she went on the Today show to be on the receiving end of a tutorial. How to Avoid Burning Your Hair Off.
