MaxCDN Debuts Flat-Rate Asian Content Delivery Network Service
LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)--
NetDNA today announced
a new add-on service to its MaxCDN content
delivery network (CDN) that provides accelerated traffic to all
Asian countries for a flat-rate charge of $10 per month.
The new service compares with competitive CDNs that charge a premium
per-megabit charge for accelerating traffic to Asian users, which can
cost hundreds or tens of thousands of dollars.
Customers enable the new MaxCDN Asian service just as they would any
other geographic zone - through the add services tab on their contrl
panel. The new service can be used with either the MaxCDN starter plan,
which costs $39.95 per year (includes one zone) or the MaxCDN business
plan at $79 per month (includes 25 zones). Any data usage overages will
be charged at their base rate.
"Asia is an important region for a lot of website operators and bloggers
who can't afford to pay the exorbitant rates for acceleration that have
been the norm," said Chris Ueland, NetDNA president. "Now, fast data
downloads in Asia are cost effective for all web sites."
MaxCDN has a CDN point of presence (POP) in Singapore that serves all of
Asia. More POPs are planned. The company's state of the art
infrastructure, which includes the latest server technology all with
solid state drives ensures high performance throughout the region. For
