Top Echelon Network Poll Reveals How Well Candidates Communicate

Canton, Ohio, Mar 09, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- When it comes to working with an executive search firm for the purpose of finding a new job for career advancement, effective communication is important for job seekers.

But how well do job seekers communicate with recruiters during the interviewing and hiring process Asking job seekers that question would probably result in rather subjective data. However, asking the recruiters, who are doing whatever they can to fill their client's open job with the best candidate possible, might yield more accurate results.

A recent poll conducted by Top Echelon Network, an elite network of highly specialized search firms, revealed how well candidates communicate with recruiters during the interviewing and hiring process.

As part of that poll, Top Echelon Network asked the following question: "What percentage of candidates 'communicate well' during the recruiting and hiring process " Only 2.5% of poll participants indicated that all of their candidates communicate well, while 43.8% stated that "about 75% of them" communicate well.

In addition, another 43.8% of recruiters indicated "about half" of their candidates reach that performance plateau in terms of communication, and 8.8% of participants stated that only "about 25%" of them did so.

Fortunately, just 1.2% of recruiters were of the opinion that "none of them" communicate well.

According to Top Echelon Network President Mark Demaree, the results of this most recent Network poll illustrate that while many candidates do communicate well, many also fall short in that area and they often do so to their own detriment.

"When job seekers and candidates don't communicate well during the hiring process, they usually increase the chances that they won't be offered the position," said Demaree. "Unfortunately, candidates sometimes feel the need to withhold information from the recruiter who presents them to the company for consideration, and as a general rule, withholding information in such a situation rarely results in the desired outcome. The better candidates communicate, the better off they are." Top Echelon Network was founded in 1988 in Canton, Ohio. Nearly 400 recruiting firms from all major industries are Preferred Member recruiters in Top Echelon Network.
