BRIEF: Ladd may play for Cougars on Saturday

PULLMAN, Mar 09, 2013 (The Spokesman-Review - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Mike Ladd seems a little more optimistic than usual that his left knee will cooperate in time for him to play in Washington State's regular-season men's basketball finale this afternoon.

Ladd has missed the Cougars' last six games with pain in his knee, but coach Ken Bone expected him to move around a little more at Friday's practice and deems him "questionable" to play.

Ladd, along with fellow senior Brock Motum, will be honored in a pregame ceremony before the final home game of their careers.

The senior from Seattle is the team's second-leading scorer at 11.4 points per game. If he's able to return, it would provide a big boost to a backcourt that is also missing sophomore guard DaVonte Lacy, who was scheduled to undergo surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
