Doing the job
Mar 10, 2013 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --
Rod Sims' term as chairman of the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission will be defined by the issue of the power of supermarkets. The regulator is investigating whether Coles and Woolworths have misused their market power in dealing with suppliers. Sims is admired for his practical manner, his ability to communicate and his collaborative approach. His lack of formal legal training gives him a different approach to the last two chairmen. He focuses on whether there has been economic harm, rather than breaches of law.
