BRIEF: Southworth ferry route back up to full service
SOUTHWORTH, Mar 11, 2013 (Kitsap Sun - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
The Fauntleroy-Vashon Island-Southworth ferry route is operating with three boats again, after having been down a ferry most of Monday because of a problem with the Klahowya.
A mechanism in the electrical system that interrupts current if there is a problem isn't working, said Washington State Ferries communications director Marta Coursey. The ferries system doesn't have a replacement part and is having one delivered from Texas. It's expected to arrive Tuesday.
The 64-car Salish joined the 124-car Issaquah and 87-car Tillikum starting with the 3:30 p.m. sailing from Vashon to Southworth.
