Canvas HD, Galaxy Grand rival with full HD screen launched [Gadgets Special] [Times of India]
(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Chinese manufacturer UMI has launched its X2 in India, making it the cheapest smartphone to come with full HD display. This smartphone features a 5-inch screen and takes on the likes of Micromax Canvas HD and Samsung Galaxy Grand. The company is retailing the device at a price of Rs 14,000 in the country.
The all-new UMI X2 boasts of an IPS display with 1920x1080p resolution and 441ppi pixel density, specifications that are only seen in top-end devices like HTC Butterfly and Sony Xperia Z. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and a promised Android 4.2 upgrade by April. This phone comes with the same 1.2GHz quad-core Mediatek processor that powers Micromax Canvas HD. UMI X2 comes with 2GB RAM, as compared to 1GB memory included in Canvas HD and Galaxy Grand.
Coming to camera, UMI X2 touts a 13MP unit with LED flash on the back, whereas its two chief rivals feature 8MP shooters; in the front, this phone has a 3MP snapper. The phone boasts of 32GB internal storage, along with 32GB microSD support for expansion. This dual-sim phablet comes with a 2,500mAh battery and has connectivity features like 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
UMI commenced its operations in India in February this year with the launch of its X1 smartphone.
