BRIEF: Coble: No decision yet on seeking re-election
GREENSBORO, Mar 16, 2013 (News & Record - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
U.S. Rep. Howard Coble hasn't decided yet whether he'll see re-election, he told local Republicans this afternoon at the Guilford County GOP's annual convention.
"You all bear with me," he told the crowd. "I'll do it in due time."
A number of candidates have expressed interest in Coble's 6th District seat, though some say they'll only run if Coble retires. The Greensboro Republican turns 82 Monday and has had health problems lately.
Coble said he appreciates the deference, but it's not necessary.
"You don't owe me that," he told the convention. "If I do run, come after me."
Guilford Republicans have gathered today to elect county officers and handle other party business. More than 100 Republicans are in attendance, including a number of state and local officials.
