BRIEF: Multi-jurisdictional DUI task force net 6 arrests during St. Patty's day celebrations
Mar 18, 2013 (San Bernardino County Sun - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A multi-jurisdictional saturation enforcement campaign netted six DUI arrests during the popular Irish holiday.
Officers from the Ontario, Chino, Redlands Police Department's along with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department took part in this DUI enforcement campaign.
Officers made a total of 52 traffic stops and administered 17 field sobriety tests, resulting in 6 DUI arrests and 2 citations issued for driving on a suspected license.
DUI checkpoints, along with regularly scheduled high visibility DUI saturation enforcement, are proven strategies with the goal of removing impaired drivers from the road and heightening awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, according to authorities.
Police encourage everyone to call 9-1-1 anytime someone encounters an alleged impaired driver.
