(Mirror (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BT is hiring 800 workers for the launch of its Sport TV channel.
Around 75 of the new jobs will be at a BT sports call centre in Accrington, Lancs, which rugby hero Lawrence Dallaglio - a pundit for the venture - opened yesterday.
BT is also taking on more than 300 other permanent employees in sales at sites in Canterbury, Doncaster, Truro, Warrington, Newcastle, Glasgow and Dundee.
Additionally, the telecoms giant is recruiting 400 workers on a temporary basis to boost take-up of the service, which will launch at some point this summer.
