BRIEF: TU to host Career Fair
THOMASVILLE, Mar 19, 2013 (Thomasville Times-Enterprise - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Dozens of businesses, institutions and organizations will be on hand to search for ideal employees during the 2013 Thomas University Career Fair on Tuesday from 2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Student Life Center on TU's West Campus, located at 1550 Magnolia Street.
Internships and volunteer opportunities will also be a focus of the career fair.
"The importance of the career fair to students is the opportunity to network with professionals in the field they hope to enter soon," said Jennifer Lindquist, Career Fair organizer. "Many students have never worked in a professional capacity, so using the career fair platform of introducing themselves to professionals and discussing their abilities, learned both in the classroom and through internships, is a valuable experience."
In addition to TU students, alumni and the general public are also invited to attend. The event is sponsored by the TU's TRiO Student Support Services and the TU Career Center.
