BRIEF: FBI searches for man who robbed Southwest Side bank
Mar 21, 2013 (Chicago Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A man robbed a FifthThird Bank branch this morning on the Southwest Side in the city's Ashburn neighborhood.
About 10:12 a.m., a man walked into the bank located at 3250 W. 87th Street and handed a teller a note demanding cash, said Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money and the man fled the scene, Mirabelli said.
The FBI described the robber as a black man with a light complexion, about 5 feet 8 inches tall. His face and head were covered, so no eye or hair color was available. He was wearing a dark pea coat, a brimmed hat with a hoodie pulled over it, a scarf and sunglasses, the FBI said.
Anyone with information identifying the robber should call the FBI Chicago office at 312-421-6700.
