BRIEF: True enters e-book marketplace
Mar 22, 2013 (Bangkok Post - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
True Digital Content and Media Co Ltd, a member of True Corporation, is jumping into the electronic book market for the first time to capture the growth of wireless broadband.
It has invested millions of baht to introduce two new e-book store applications, TrueBook and TrueBook Premium, said Jirattikarn Suthiwannarat, general manager for publications and game media.
TrueBook has 1,000 book titles and magazines and will increase the number to 2,000 titles by year-end.
TrueBook Premium is the first e-book store with 10 leading interactive magazine titles. It will increase the number to 40 by December.
The arrival of third-generation (3G) mobile services in the second quarter will encourage more interactive e-book readers, Ms Jirattikarn said.
The interactive e-book app will support video and audio with a 360-degree view that brings a different reading experience from plain text. Most interactive e-books are magazines about home decor and travel.
Both mobile apps have a target age group of 18-35.
