BRIEF: Bridgeport man charged in string of South Side burglaries
Mar 22, 2013 (Chicago Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Bail was set at $175,000 today for a Bridgeport man charged with burglary after police said he was captured on video surveillance at one of the crime scenes on the city's South Side.
Ross Haddon, 50, of the 2900 block of South Emerald Avenue, was charged with three counts of burglary-residential, one count of burglary and one count of attempted burglary-residential, police said.
Police said Ross was captured on video surveillance during one of the burglaries. Those images and other information provided by residents of the community helped police identify Ross.
Ross was arrested March 19 and after a search warrant was executed at his home officers found proceeds from several burglaries, police said.
In total, Ross was charged in connection with five separate burglaries. Police said all the burglaries were recent and in the Bridgeport neighborhood, but did not release additional details.
He appeared in bond court today where he was ordered held in lieu of $175,000 bail.
