Below are the three companies in the Airlines industry with the lowest operating margin. A healthy operating margin is required for a company to pay for its fixed costs and generate cash.Hawaiian Holdings ranks lowest with a an operating margin of 2.5%. Following is Southwest Airlines with a an operating margin of 2.5%. Lan Airlines ranks third lowest with a an operating margin of 2.7%.
JetBlue Airways follows with a an operating margin of 3.7%, and US Airways Group rounds out the bottom five with a an operating margin of 4.1%.
