Below are the three companies in the Trucking industry with the lowest operating margin. A healthy operating margin is required for a company to pay for its fixed costs and generate cash.Con-way ranks lowest with a an operating margin of 2.8%. Following is Covenant Transportation with a an operating margin of 2.9%. Saia ranks third lowest with a an operating margin of 3.8%.
Quality Distribution follows with a an operating margin of 4.3%, and Universal Truckload Services rounds out the bottom five with a an operating margin of 5.3%.
