New app ideal for busy library users [Edition 2] [Gloucestershire Echo (England)]

(Gloucestershire Echo (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LIBRARY users in Gloucestershire can access library services from the palm of their hand next month when a new app launches.

The library app, SOLUS, will allow new and existing customers to use their smart phones and tablets to browse the library catalogue, reserve books and search for e-books online.

Accessing services on the move will open up the county library to new users, it is hoped. Library users in rural parts of the county can access the internet on board the new public sector mobile library, which has been on the road for three months serving 56 rural communities in the county. To celebrate the first three months of the service, a prize draw is to be made with one customer winning a Google Nexus 7 tablet.
