Manchester Business School CEO Nigel Banister Available for Interviews

New York, NY, May 04, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Data compiled in the Graduate Management Admission Council 2012 World Geographic Trend Report shows that prospective MBA students -- US and international -- increasingly look beyond traditional US programs -- particularly to those founded or based in the United Kingdom, Canada, and India.

Nigel Banister, Chief Global Officer of Manchester Business School, will be in New York City May 8-11 to discuss this trend with alumni and prospective students. Mr. Banister will be available for interviews with business and education writers interested in trends toward global MBA programs, enrollment and recruitment.

"We live in a global age, and it is imperative that executives are able to operate in an international context, evolving in and leading multicultural teams, suppliers, contractors and clients," says Mr. Banister. "In a global economy, corporations have a seemingly insatiable need for good managers. This is a trend that will only gather pace in the years to come." Mr. Banister has led the development of the Global MBA from Manchester Business School, a blended-format program connecting 3,500 students across seven MBS Global MBA centers: Manchester, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sao Paulo and Miami. Prior to this post, Mr. Banister has been involved in major online learning initiatives for UK Government and with Informatics Holdings Ltd - a Singapore listed company.

A Forbes story published last week shows that larger numbers of MBA candidates -- domestic and international -- seek more global exposure and content in programs, as well as recruitment and jobs post-graduation.

A recent Financial Times "Online Learning 2013" panel discussed how the blended format provides meaningful face-to-face contact, fertile ground for real and lasting network building. MBS has an alumni network of almost 50,000 graduates, spanning over 160 countries.

Mr. Banister will meet prospective students, along with Manchester Business School alumni and invited guests in New York on Thursday, May 9th at 6pm at the New York Hilton Midtown.
