LABS Introduces Senior Management PromotionMay 28, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- LABS, Inc., a FDA-registered laboratory nationally recognized for providing donor eligibility testing for solid organ and bone marrow transplants, and regulated testing on human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based products (HCT/Ps), announced that Sara Dionne, Ph.D. has been appointed as the company's Laboratory Director. "I am delighted that Sara is advancing into this key role," said Ray W. Swanson, President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are very fortunate to have a professional of her caliber on our team and look forward to extending her unique and invaluable perspectives to our entire laboratory operations." According to a release, Dr. Dionne joined LABS in 2008 as an American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) director-in-training with a focus in solid organ transplantation. In 2011, she became head of the infectious disease testing department where she redefined a number of key processes that improved the quality and delivery of test results. Dionne also oversaw the implementation of a fully automated viral nucleic acid testing platform leading to improvements in organ and tissue screening for donor allocation. Dionne is an ASHI approved Laboratory Director. She received her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arizona in 2002. Additionally, the company also announced that Michael Bauer, M.D. will continue as the company's Medical Director, under a new and exclusive agreement, for organ and tissue donor testing.
