Teladoc names new chief medical officerMay 29, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Teladoc, a provider of telehealth services, has named Henry DePhillips as new chief medical officer. Dr DePhillips will be responsible for the supervision and expansion of Teladoc's physician network, as well as the overall delivery of clinical care to Teladoc patients. "Dr DePhillips will be an asset to the Teladoc team in his role as Chief Medical Officer," said Jason Gorevic, CEO, Teladoc. "With years of experience as a primary care physician, thought leader and health care innovator, he will help Teladoc build on and expand our leadership position in the telehealth space. Having known Dr DePhillips for quite some time, I'm confident that he will make an immediate impact." Dr DePhillips has held multiple leadership positions within the health care consulting, health insurance and health care information technology sectors. He was Senior Medical Director at Independence Blue Cross of Pennsylvania, and later held positions as Chief Medical Officer at MEDecision, a clinical care management software company; Medem, a physician-hosted website and PHR company; PDR Network, an electronic patient safety communications company; and Audax Health, a consumer engagement technology company. Dr DePhillips was also the head of business development, North America for McKinsey's international Health Systems Institute.
