China Business Knowledge (CBK) to Host the Second NYC Dim Sum Networking Lunch, June 12, 2013, Chinatown, NYC

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--

China Business Knowledge (CBK) will be hosting the second NYC Dim Sum Networking Lunch on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, as a way to bring area professionals working in the US/China cross-border sector together for business development networking and great food.

The lunch will be held at Jing Fong Restaurant, 20 Elizabeth St., Chinatown, NYC, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Sponsors for the event include Newman and Morrison LLP, Allen Overy LLP, Marcum Bernstein Pinchuk LLP, RRE Ventures, Segal Cirone Services (SCS (News - Alert)), and BDO Consulting.

"We had over 50 people show up for the inaugural lunch in March," Janet Stites, publisher of China Business Knowledge (CBK), which tracks Chinese companies which are listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ, and OTC markets, said. "It's hard getting this group away from their Excel spreadsheets and out of midtown. But everyone loves dumplings."

Dim Sum has a long history of bringing together business people. Lore has it that it originated in teahouses along the Silk Road as a way for travelers to relax with appetizer-sized plates of food and a pot of hot tea, sharing tables with other merchants and local rural farmers.

"The timing for a China/US networking event could not be better," Stites said. "We'll be meeting on the heels of President Obama and President Xi Jinping's historic meeting. It's too bad the Presidents can't join us. It would have been a great opportunity to see how well business people in the US/China cross-border sector get along. Doing so, might expedite the updating of some trade laws which currently hinder 'business as usual' between the countries."

CBK plans to host the Dim Sum Lunch on a quarterly basis and launch it in other cities.
