Billy Bob's Texas marketing director Pam Minick retiring

Jun 12, 2013 (Fort Worth Star-Telegram - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- As I noted on Twitter last week, after 24 years, Billy Bob's Texas marketing director Pam Minick is retiring.

Minick, who turns 60 on June 30, picked that date as her last day on the job, which Minick said in a statement has "never felt like a job." Under the Las Vegas native's watch, the venerable Stockyards venue has won several Academy of Country Music nightclub of the year honors, welcomed thousands of guests and been the launching pad for a who's who of country music, from Garth Brooks to Miranda Lambert.

"Working here for 24 years, it's been fun to see newcomers like Garth Brooks, Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney build their audiences here, and know that with the marketing of their concerts in one of the nation's biggest country music markets, we played a small part in their success early in their careers," Minick said in a statement.

Despite stepping down from her position as marketing director (a replacement has not yet been named), Minick and her husband, Billy, will continue to have a hand in Billy Bob's Texas going forward as part owners in the venue's partnership.

Minick also plans to continue working with RFD-TV, producing and hosting shows like The American Rancher and Gentle Giants.
