Hewlett-Packard puts Bradley in strategy role

(Associated Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) — Hewlett-Packard Co. said Tuesday that Todd Bradley, the head of its printing and personal computer business, will take a new position in charge of the company's strategy with a focus on China.

HP said Bradley, 54, will be in charge of strategic growth initiatives, and will work with President and CEO Meg Whitman to improve the company's business in China and extend relationships with important partners worldwide.

Bradley was in charge of HP's PC business from 2005 until 2012, when it combined the printing and personal systems business into one unit under his leadership.

Dion Weisler, who is in charge of printing and personal systems for Asia-Pacific and Japan, will take Bradley's former role. The company said Weisler has been with HP since January 2012.

Nick Lazaridis, the chief operating officer of the Asia-Pacific and Japan printing and PC business, will become interim head of the division while the company looks for a permanent replacement.

Shares of HP rose 19 cents to $25.35 in morning trading Tuesday. They are near the upper end of their 52-week range of $11.35 to $25.49.
