Online Courses Aimed to Sharpen Business Skills
(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) KINGMAN, Ariz., Aug. 16 -- Mohave Community College issued the following news release:
Working professionals, supervisors and business owners can enhance their careers, position for a promotion and impress their bosses in just 12 weeks.
Mohave Community College is offering a range of 12-week, online courses to boost employees' knowledge in business practices.
"Business owners who invest in their own education and encourage their employees to further their knowledge, enjoy greater profitability and productivity," said Diana Stithem, MCC's Extended Campus dean.
The courses are beneficial to employees who want a quick refresher course or an improved skillset to work their way up the corporate ladder, Stithem added. The online courses allow working adults the flexibility of doing their coursework during hours that fit their work and family schedule. Individual skills courses can also serve as a great step into college for those who are thinking about eventually earning a certificate or associate degree.
The 12-week classes begin Sept. 23 and include: Using QuickBooks, Marketing, Retailing and Customer Service, Microeconomics, Intro to Business and Entrepreneurship, Human Behavior in the Workplace, Business Math, Managing and Supervising Techniques, Business Ethics, Intro to Computer Info Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel Spreadsheets and Word.
Cost of tuition and standard fees is $85 per credit hour. Employees interested in applying for financial aid are encouraged to start the federal application process immediately. Stithem said, "We always admire the employers who offer tuition reimbursement programs to reward their employees for successfully completing courses which apply directly to their work."
Most tuition reimbursement programs are set up so the employee pays the costs up front and are reimbursed for tuition, fees and books when they submit their transcript or grade report showing the grade required by the employer.
