Automotive restoration expert Chris Purdum's Customs & Classics shop in Murray, Utah, attracts classic car collectors from around the country who seek him out for award-winning restoration work.
"Over the past two decades, we've had the pleasure of working on some of the finest cars in the world and with some of the greatest classic car collectors in the country who have brought cars to us from California, Washington D.C., and everywhere in between," said Chris Purdum, owner and founder of Customs & Classics. "Our projects span as little as a few weeks and a few thousand dollars, to those that have taken several years with an investment of half a million dollars. Our restorations give serious owners a significant edge when competing for 'Best in Class' or 'Best of Show' at Concours d'Elegance events."
Purdum is referring to high-level car events across the United States known for attracting flawless classic cars judged in categories for originality, authenticity, and elegance. The most famous of these events is the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, held each August on the Monterey Peninsula where names like Ralph Lauren and Jay Leno are known to display incredible examples of European and American classics.
"Restoration of a family car or inherited vehicle can be very rewarding. A properly-restored collector car typically brings a better return than today's disappointing bank and stock options. The restoration we performed for television producer Jon Andersen has already won 'Best in Class' and 'Best Interior' at prominent events. Mr. Andersen and his family will enjoy displaying the Hudson at events this year in Colorado, New Mexico, and beyond. Awards from these events can only increase the value of Andersen's investment over the years. What a great way to invest," reflects Purdum.
