BRIEF: Nevada City's Telestream acquires captioning software firm [The Sacramento Bee]
(Sacramento Bee (CA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 21--Telestream Inc., the Nevada City-based producer of high-tech digital video tools and systems, said it has completed the acquisition of captioning software company CPC.
Officials said CPC, started in 1986, has relocated from its Rockville, Md., headquarters to Telestream's East Coast office in Sterling, Va.
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
CPC offers closed captioning software internationally. In 2012, CPC received the Accessibility Award at the National Association of the Deaf Conference.
Telestream said the acquisition will benefit its long-term product strategies, including workflow automation, live streaming and web publishing products.
"Our customers at all levels need tools to author and distribute captioning in a more integrated way," said Dan Castles, CEO at Telestream. "This is a natural extension of what we do, and we look forward to integrating CPC's world-class technology into all of our products."
