Eltek Adds Smartpack2 Controller to Flatpack2 Trilogy DC Power System Boosting Management Features and Power Density
PLANO, Texas --(Business Wire)--
Eltek, the world
leader in high efficiency power systems for telecommunications,
industrial applications and renewable energy projects, today announced
an upgrade to its Flatpack2 Trilogy product line, a compact, high
efficiency DC power system that now supports the Smartpack2 controller,
boosting system management and power density to up to 600 Amps.
The Smartpack2 controller platform features increased memory and more
powerful processing for expanded controller features whether onsite (via
a 3.2" high contrast, high-resolution color display) or remotely via
Internet protocol (IP). The controller supports SNMPv3 for highly secure
In addition, the Smartpack2 offers input flexibility through its six
CAN-based programmable relay outputs for monitoring DC power system and
battery elements and six digital/analog inputs for monitoring door
alarms or other inputs.
At only 16" deep, the Flatpack2 Trilogy is shallower than standard DC
power systems, and is ideal for short-depth racks, cabinets or
enclosures in both outside plant and central office applications. By
utilizing 3kW rectifiers, the system can provide the full 600A output in
less rac space. Eltek's Flatpack2 DC/DC converters are also supported
in the Trilogy allowing customers to support both 24V or 48V output.
The Smartpack2 controller has a fully distributed architecture with
three separate components; the master controller, the system basic
controller and the I/O monitor that simplifies connections. The
controller also includes system configuration, testing and energy
"The telecom industry is often restricted by tight spaces for its
applications, so the high efficiency and compact size of the Trilogy
system with its smaller Smartpack2 controller, solves a critical
problem," said David Leal, Eltek Vice President of Sales for North
America. "Plus, the Trilogy's innovative hybrid design which integrates
solar with standard power, makes this a green solution that saves money
and helps the environment."
Both the Flatpack2 Trilogy and the Smartpack2 support Flatpack2 HE solar
converter modules, allowing carriers to build a hybrid solar DC power
system to lower costs and decrease environmental impact. Eltek's recent
article in OSP Magazine describes the benefits and offers a
case study on hybrid solar DC power sites for telecom applications.
The shelves can fit into a 19- or 23-inch rack. With its high-efficiency
level of more than 96 percent, the system significantly reduces heat
output compared to the industry standard for power efficiency, and
reduces the amount of cooling requirement. The system optimizes space by
cabling vertically rather than horizontally, with vertical cable
landings for breakers that guide cables out the top or sides.
The Flatpack2 Trilogy DC power system with Smartpack2 controller is
available now from Eltek's worldwide sales force.
Eltek is a technology leader in high-efficiency (HE) power solutions for
telecom and industrial applications. The company also has a growing
